Located in the historic Warner’s Hotel building in the north east heritage precinct of Cathedral Square, Bailies Irish Bar and Restaurant is one of inner city Christchurch’s oldest identities.

You never know who you might meet here. We’ve played host to Antarctic explorers (past and present), a British Prince, New Zealand’s royal family (The All Blacks) and world leaders (well, at least their body guards) and the Town Crier. We are the original Guinness bar in New Zealand and our fame has even spread as far as Hollywood!

Unfortunately we are temporarily closed because of the devastating earthquake that struck Christchurch on 22 February. Our building and staff are fine but we are located in the cordoned off ‘red zone’. We don’t know when we will be able to reopen but hope it is very soon!
